"A wall could survive its storyteller. A photograph could survive its camera. But will our digital stories survive Facebook, YouTube—or whatever replaces them? I've been experimenting with something I call the 100-Year Scrapbook. The idea isn't just to save the JPEG. It's to save the story behind it. Who made it? Why? What was real? What was reconstructed? What sources were used? What did the creator want us to understand? The image becomes the artifact. Plain-text Markdown becomes the memory. And together they leave instructions for someone in 2126 to rebuild the experience. Preserve the artifact. Preserve the context. Preserve the ability to rebuild it."
