Mount Rainier has been here longer than any of us can imagine.
But the mountain we remember is changing.
Glaciers retreat. Trails change. Buildings become history.
And eventually, so do we.
That doesn’t mean the story is over.
There is still time to come back.
To walk a familiar trail.
To sit across from someone you know.
To hear the water, step inside, and look up at the mountain again.
Someday, another generation may stand in this same place.
The mountain may look different.
But perhaps the memory doesn’t have to disappear.
